Private Skating Instruction – Personalized One-on-One Training
Personalized Instruction. Individual Progress. Greater Confidence.
Our Private Skating Instruction sessions are designed for individuals who prefer a more personalized learning experience tailored to their specific needs, comfort level, and skating goals.
Unlike group classes, private sessions allow me to focus more closely on each skater's development, providing individualized guidance, encouragement, and instruction at a pace that supports their progress. My teaching approach emphasizes building a strong foundation, with each newly mastered skill preparing the skater for the next stage of learning.
What You'll Learn
Instruction begins with the fundamentals of balance and body control, including:
Developing balance one foot at a time.
Learning to shift body weight comfortably and confidently.
Practicing simple foot positions to establish stability.
Learning how to stand securely on skates and begin moving.
Progressing through basic movements and drills as skills improve.
I assess each skater's progress throughout the session and adjust instruction accordingly. The goal is to ensure that students feel comfortable with each skill before advancing to the next. Building confidence through gradual, achievable steps helps create a stronger foundation for long-term skating development.
Small Groups for Individual Attention
Private sessions are intentionally kept small to maintain a personalized instructional environment. I recommend no more than two skaters per session to ensure each participant receives sufficient attention, guidance, and feedback.
For children: A parent or guardian must remain present throughout the session and assist as needed to help maintain the child's attention, engagement, and participation.
Session Duration & Practice Expectations
Duration: 60 minutes
Local Park Session: Starting at $30 per person.
Off-Site Session: Starting at $40 per person for locations up to 20 miles away.
Additional Participants: Please disclose any additional participants when booking. No more than two additional guests may attend.
Because each session is limited to one hour, consistent practice outside of scheduled lessons is essential for continued improvement. Students are encouraged to review and practice the skills introduced during each session before their next appointment.
Remember: Progress depends on consistency. Without regular practice between lessons, mastering fundamental skills may take longer than anticipated.
